On December 14, 2002, the first Juan Valdez Cafe store at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota opened its doors to coffee lovers. Thus, Juan Valdez began to realize the dream of making the efforts of coffee growers and the quality of Colombian coffee visible.
Through its hiring practices, Juan Valdez has expanded the scope of its social responsibility projects by creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities, encouraging their social, educational, and workforce participation.
To provide women with a greater role in working life, Juan Valdez added the special product "Mujeres Cafeteras," made from coffee beans harvested by women within its organization, to its portfolio. As a result, Mujeres Cafeteras, known as the coffee of women producers, has become available in Juan Valdez stores around the world.
